Com has announced plans to launch a new social media platform called Reddit.
It will be called Reddit, but its developers are working on a name to stand out from the thousands of other sites already running on the platform.
Reddit will allow users to comment on their favourite Reddit posts and to vote on other people’s posts.
It is part of a broader push to democratise social media and give users control over the content they see on the site.
“Reddit is a place for people to get together to share their stories and ideas,” Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian said in a blog post.
“It’s a platform for the sharing of ideas and information, not a platform to control others.
We’re making this space available to everyone.”
Reddit was founded by Mr Ohanian, the CEO of Twitter and the founder of PayPal, which is valued at $1.5bn.
The company plans to use the technology to allow users more control over their online lives.
“We want Reddit to be a community where people can get together, talk, have a laugh, and have fun,” Mr Ohanyian said.
“What I’m really excited about is that Reddit is going in a new direction.
It’s not going to have to be this big, big monolithic thing.
It can be small, niche, or even very small, like a subreddit for the community to interact and share their ideas and opinions.”
Reddit will feature “community tools” that will allow members to vote and comment on posts.
“For Reddit, there are a lot of tools that allow you to participate, and a lot that give you the ability to vote,” Reddit CEO Steve Huffman said in the blog post announcing the new platform.
“But we also want to make sure that the content you post is representative of the community, and that the comments you make reflect the community as a whole.”
Reddit, which launched in 2008, was founded on the principles of free speech and the free exchange of ideas.
But Reddit is increasingly being used by large companies, including Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft, to host discussions and provide links to other content.
It has more than 300 million registered users, with more than 60 million using the site to post content.
Reddit has become a popular place for users to discuss politics, culture and other topics, with the majority of users choosing to vote.
Reddit was previously known as Thefrontpage, which Mr Ohanaian founded in 2012.
The site has become popular among celebrities, politicians, musicians, film-makers, business people and more.
Reddit is currently running a series of tests to determine the platform’s future.
It said it would not disclose how much it is spending on advertising.
Reddit said it had raised $20m in funding in the last year, including funding from venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz, Andreessen Media and Andreessen Group.
It plans to make the site available to more people later this year.
Reddit launched in November last year and was founded in 2008.
The service has had an overwhelming success in providing users with a forum to talk about and share ideas.
Users can now comment and vote on posts, while others can submit new content.
Users also have a “subreddit” for specific interests and topics, where they can share content.
Topics are organised by category, with top posts in the top-most categories, and there is a subreddit that can be “housed” in a specific subreddit.
Reddit started as a forum for people who liked the site’s social-media features and was later designed to be used as a platform where users could discuss their interests.
It also became popular as a place to exchange ideas and share news.
“The frontpage is the heart of Reddit,” Mr Huffman told reporters in a video announcing the company.
“That’s why we created it, so people could post to the frontpage and talk about stuff that they care about.”
Mr Ohano said the new site would allow users “to connect with other people around the world” and make it easier for them to share ideas and news.
He said the service would allow Reddit to become a “global community” and create “a global platform for sharing ideas”.
“Reddit.com will be a new community platform where people will be able to interact, vote, comment and share with their communities, ideas and insights.”
Reddit will have tools that let you share ideas with your friends and communities around the globe.
Over the next few weeks, Reddit.co will be launching to allow people to test out the features, and you can start seeing it live today,” he said.
