The headset, which will be compatible with the lites newest mobile device, will be priced at $199.
It is designed to be compatible for both the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, and is expected to be available for purchase in Canada in late March.
The liteOn company said it expects that about 5 million people worldwide will be able to use the Vive virtual reality system, which it is developing and shipping to retailers and developers for consumers.
It also said it is aiming to launch the headset in the United States by the end of the year.
The company said its headset will allow users to explore virtual worlds, play virtual games, interact with people and share virtual experiences.
“Our mission is to bring VR to a global audience through our innovative liteO ecosystem and we will make a lot of money from it,” said Jason Leblanc, liteONT’s co-founder and chief operating officer.
The companies also announced they have acquired several digital advertising agencies.
Leblac said the ltc was able to raise $100 million in funding through a series of private placements and through a joint venture with Microsoft.
“We’ve got the opportunity to be part of a global ecosystem that includes a global player like Microsoft, which has been very good to us,” Leblanac said.
The government has been pushing for the lteo to compete with VR in terms of cost and performance, but Leblanche said the company has yet to meet its own goals and that its efforts to do so have been largely unsuccessful.
The country is also working to ensure its own technology, ltc, is not too reliant on foreign suppliers.
According to the company’s most recent quarterly report, the company had $1.2 billion in revenues in 2019 and $2.5 billion in 2020.
It said it was working with a host of government and industry partners, including the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, to help address the challenges facing the company.
It has also hired former employees from Microsoft and Apple to help with its product development efforts.
“liteON has a proven track record of growing its company, growing its business and growing its technology, and the lxon company is doing that right now,” said Leblaun.
“In the future, lxons technology will help us make the digital economy better and more accessible.” liteont, which employs more than 1,000 people in Toronto, said last year that it had sold more than $1 billion worth of liteos over the last two years, which was “a tremendous achievement.”
It said the new company will continue to provide support for the company and its customers.
